How It Works

Track focus with a timeline, not a mystery score.

ActualFocus turns a workday into a visible timeline: you start a session, it records only the frontmost app activity during that session, and then it generates a summary from the history you can inspect.

01

Start a session on purpose

Focus tracking begins when you choose to begin. This keeps the product aligned with deliberate work instead of ambient desktop noise.

02

Track only what you were actively doing

The timeline gives credit to the app in front of you. Background churn does not become fake productivity.

03

Keep the sensitive bits on device

Camera frames remain local. Website analytics stay anonymous-only. Website builds of the app use default-on anonymous telemetry that can be switched off in settings at any time.

04

Read a summary that traces back to evidence

The end-of-day view comes from the timeline, so you can reason about what happened instead of accepting a black-box score.

Telemetry boundary

Website analytics and app telemetry stay separate.

The website uses explicit-only anonymous conversion tracking in its own PostHog project. Fresh installs from this site can send anonymous app telemetry on the website release track, but the website does not create a cross-surface identity graph.

Permission model

Setup friction is declared, not hidden.

Accessibility permission supports accurate frontmost activity context. Camera access only matters if you turn on camera-backed focus checks. The site surfaces those choices before download.

Scene 01

Start the session yourself

A session only begins when you say it does.

Scene 02

Frontmost work earns the credit

The timeline follows the app you were actually using.

Scene 03

Summaries stay connected to the record

The recap points back to the timeline instead of inventing a hidden score.

09:00 Session started
10:15 Frontmost work tracked
11:45 Summary ready

Product demo

A short, inspectable product tour

This built-in demo mirrors the product’s trust model: start a session, track frontmost work, then inspect the generated timeline and summary.
